All of us in the Slidecrew team have been in the firing line of managing presentations for many years. Some of us as AV technicians, some as IT specialists, some of us as graphic designers and some of us as conference producers. It’s not too bold a statement to say that collectively, “we’ve seen it all”. When we got together to form Slidecrew, our goal was to create the best possible system to eliminate the risks inherent in managing presentations for a conference, congress or seminar. Over the years we have grown tremendously and are now supporting events all over the world.
Here is the team that makes it all possible.
Andrew joined the Slidecrew APAC team as a project manager, bringing with him 35 years’ experience in corporate events. Having started his working life as a technician, he has since moved into production manager, producer and executive producer roles. Much of his working life was spent in London, where he ran a successful production agency; designing events and producing content for conferences and exhibitions. More recently his work has shifted back to the APAC region in an Executive Producer role on B2B events as well as consumer activations. Andrew is happiest when with his family and four dogs on their hobby farm in central Thailand.
Antony is a “classically” trained software engineer with a master’s degree in computer science. He has more than 8 years of professional software development experience in a variety of computer languages. In the past few years, he has been getting a crash course in AV. In his spare time, he is a bit of a couch potato but enjoys participating in game jams from time to time.
With 25 years’ experience in event management, technical production and conferencing AV, Dior brings a wealth of experience to Slidecrew. He has co-designed and deployed a number of customised inventory management systems and worked across the Asia Pacific and America as a Project Manager. When he isn’t at work, he is often found drumming in his shed, camping with the family or binging on Netflix.
Felix has more than 22 years of experience in the AV and event industry. He started doing audio for beach parties when he was 18 years old. Over time, he expanded his knowledge into light and video. During his career, Felix has worn many of the hats on the technical side of the event organization.
Having started as a sound engineer, Grant has worked professionally in the live events industry for 20 years in vision control, camera operating and technical direction. Proficient in web development technologies and database development and management, he is a self-confessed IT geek. Grant has a passion for visiting Apple stores (he’s been to 50 in 10 countries!) and singing with his a cappella group on stage (when they let him).
With a decade of event management experience behind her, Megan has held various Event, Marketing and Administration roles within the industry. A keen organiser, when she’s not making her way around a spreadsheet or yet another list, she’ll be enjoying the natural landscape of the South Australian coastline.
Ursula is an architectural technologist that studied in South Africa. She has since turned her attention to virtual architecture and the design of 3D worlds.
Ursula is also our head of marketing, and takes care of all aesthetic, design and marketing tasks that the developers just cant figure out. She has a creative approach to problem solving and a bubbly personality that puts people at ease.
Vince got an AV-centered education in Rotterdam and has more than 9 years of professional AV experience. He is also a self-taught software developer because he wanted to develop games. His skills proved to be a valuable addition to the Slidecrew team. His motto: “If it takes more than 5 minutes, automate it!”. Vince has a passion for metal music.
