The Slidecrew Software Manager simplifies the process of setting up and managing all Slidecrew Apps on your devices. This guide walks you through downloading, installing, and pairing the Software Manager with your event, ensuring your devices are ready to go.
Step 1: Downloading the Slidecrew Software Manager
- Log In to Your Event Portal: Navigate to your event portal and go to the Dashboard page.

Find the Tools Widget: Look for the widget titled “Tools”, which offers download links for the Slidecrew Software Manager.
- Click the download link for your operating system: Windows or MacOS.
- Run the Installer: Once the download is complete, open the installer and follow the prompts to install the software.
- Locate the Shortcut: After installation, a shortcut for the Slidecrew Software Manager will appear on your desktop.
Step 2: Pairing the Software Manager to Your Event
- Open the Software Manager: The first screen will display a six-digit code.

Add the Device to Your Event Portal:
- In your event portal, go to the Devices page under the Core menu.
- Click the “+” button to add a new device.
- Enter the six-digit code, choose the room to allocate the device to, and click “Add”.
- Access the App Launcher: The Software Manager will switch to the App Launcher, organizing all Slidecrew Apps into tabs, ready to be launched.
Step 3: The App Launcher
With the Slidecrew Software Manager installed and paired, your devices are ready to manage sessions, engage attendees, and ensure a seamless event experience. The Apps themselves are grouped into tabs by their intended place at an event.
Conference Room & Signage Apps
The Slidecrew Apps available for conference rooms provide powerful tools for managing presentations and sessions:
- Room Signage: Displays the schedule of upcoming sessions and presentations for the allocated room.
- Technician App: Provides technicians with advanced tools for managing presentation files, including file analysis details like video content or slide aspect ratios.
- Kiosk App: Ideal for standalone rooms, this app allows speakers to easily open their presentations using an intuitive interface.
- Moderator App: Equips moderators with detailed session information, speaker details, and PDF slide previews.
- Room Timer: Displays a countdown timer for the current presentation.
- Timer Controller: Adds control functionality for technicians or moderators to override the timer or discreetly display messages on the room timer.
- ePoster App: Enables attendees to interact with high-resolution ePosters using an intuitive touch-screen interface.
Speaker Ready Room Apps
The Speaker Ready Room uses specific Slidecrew Apps to streamline speaker check-ins and preparations:
- Speaker Service Centre: Manages speaker check-ins, allowing staff to assist with file uploads, edits, and rehearsals.
- SSC Queue: Displays the list of speakers currently at check-in stations and those waiting in the queue.
- Server: Turns the device into a local caching server for offline events.
- File Scanner: Analyzes presentation files to detect common issues, ideal for offline use.
Customizable Interfaces: the Screen Matrix
Slidecrew’s flexibility allows you to customize how Apps are displayed across devices with multiple screens:
- Screen Matrix: Configure layouts where different screens run separate Apps. For example, one device could display the Kiosk App on two screens and a timer on a third.
Additional Features and Options

The Settings Sidebar: Accessible via the menu button in the top-right corner, the sidebar offers:
- Options to override the date for testing and rehearsals through the “Event Day” dropdown
- The “Caching Location” dropdown lets you choose the place that the app will download presentations files to: Either the desktop or the Documents folder.
- Speaker Ready Room settings allow various Check-in App features to be toggled on or off for that station, such as editing files, allowing new file uploads and editing speaker information.
- Device Reset: Also available in the settings sidebar, the “Reset Device” button will unpair the App Launcher with the current event, making it ready to pair with a new one—no reinstallation required.
